Meet Mathilda
Dr. Mathilda Tuuli is a strategic Human Resources leader with over 15 years of experience spanning higher education, corporate, and healthcare sectors. She brings deep expertise in HR strategy, global human resources management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, corporate culture transformation, diversity and inclusion, leadership development, and talent recruitment and retention.
Mathilda began her career in higher education, where she advanced student success, retention, inclusive engagement, and leadership development at institutions including The Ohio State University, the University of Massachusetts, and Iowa State University. This foundation shaped her passion for equitable access, coaching, and developing high-potential talent—principles that continue to guide her people-centered approach to HR leadership.
She later transitioned into corporate HR leadership, holding key roles at The Wendy's Company and ChenMed, where she led DEI strategy and partnered with senior leaders across the United States, Canada, and Latin America/Caribbean. In these roles, she drove enterprise-wide people strategies, strengthened leadership capability, and advanced inclusive, high-performing cultures aligned with business outcomes.
A recognized thought partner and people-first strategist, Mathilda has earned recognition across both academic and corporate environments for her contributions to inclusive leadership and culture transformation. She is a trusted voice on topics including allyship, global citizenship, and creating workplaces where individuals can bring their authentic selves and thrive.
Mathilda holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Learning, Leadership, and Innovation from Wilmington University, a Master's in Human Resource Management from The Ohio State University, a Master's in Student Affairs from Missouri State University, and a Bachelor's in Development Studies from the University for Development Studies (Ghana). She also holds professional certifications, including SHRM-CP and Certified Diversity Professional (CDP).
